How to choose the Mode?

**Automatic Mode**

This is the basic composting mode, designed for your convenience. It is equipped with an integrated weighing scale that accurately measures the weight of the food added to the composter. Based on this weight, the system automatically adjusts the composting time required, ensuring optimal conditions for efficient decomposition. ( 4 - 6 hours )

As long as the food waste does not contain excessive moisture, the output from this mode typically yields healthy and viable fertilizer after a single processing cycle.

**Manual Mode**

This is an additional composting mode, allowing users to choose 1 to 3 hours of working time, which can be selected according to your needs.

If the outcome from the automatic mode is not satisfactory (i.e., if the fertilizer is not sufficiently dry), you can extend the processing time by switching to manual mode. This ensures that the finished fertilizer is dry and healthy.

When incorporating foods with high moisture content, such as oranges, peaches, watermelons, tomatoes, etc., you may encounter an extension in the composting duration. In such cases, the automatic mode, which typically operates on a cycle of 4 to 6 hours, might not yield fully dry and healthful compost. Therefore, it may become necessary to manually initiate an additional drying cycle to ensure that the compost is adequately dehydrated.

The process of MANUAL & AUTO MODE can be understood as heated composting, where high temperatures are utilized to break down organic matter efficiently. The process is relatively fast and the result is a nutrient-rich compost that can be used to improve soil structure, water retention, and fertility. Heated composting kills most pathogens, weed seeds, and harmful organisms due to the high temperatures, making the compost safe for garden use.

For those seeking a more advanced solution, FERMENTATION MODE can be enhanced with microbial compost accelerator that contain beneficial bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms. When introduced into the heated composting environment, these microbes proliferate rapidly, further speeding up waste decomposition and improving nutrient content.

**Fermentation Mode**

"Add 50% water (400g ) into 800g of treated food waste. Press the button to start composting. After operation in 3 hours, add microbial compost accelerator which can accelerate the maturation of food waste. The ripening process lasts about 12H to complete the compost process. After curing, store it sealed for 1 week. Mix the compost with the soil in a ratio of 1:10 before planting."

In this context, "treated food" refers specifically to the composted products that have undergone processing through either Auto or Manual Mode.

Choosing this mode, it will automaticlly running for 8-12 hours. We strongly recommend incorporating microbial inoculants when using the FMT mode. This type of product accelerates the decomposition of materials during the composting process, regulates pH levels, and is rich in nutrients that are often absent in standard fertilizers.

Overall, utilizing our compostier not only expedites the composting process but also produces healthy and safe fertilizers.
It is important to note that both the dry outputs from the automatic and manual modes can also be utilized as healthy fertilizers; it is not only the fermentation mode that produces usable fertilizer. Should you have any professional requirements or a specific focus on fertilizer quality, incorporating microbial compost accelerator into FERMENTATION MODE could achieve even greater nutritional value.

Activated Carbon/ Charcoal

How much to add?

When you receive our machine, it will come with a bag of activated carbon. The primary function of the charcoal is to reduce or eliminate any odors that may arise from food waste during the machine's operation. The amount of activated carbon to be added depends on your usage. If you are adding only a small quantity of food to the composter, or if it does not produce much odor, you may choose to use only a small amount or half of the bag. However, if you are adding a larger volume of food waste or if it generates significant odors, you should use the entire bag of activated carbon.

The amount of charcoal we provide exceeds the volume of the containers. In fact, even after filling both containers completely, there will be some excess material available for your needs. Therefore, if you wish to utilize all of it, you can simply fill both containers to capacity.

Generally, if you are uncertain about the appropriate amount of activated charcoal to use, it is advisable to pour the entire bag provided by us into the machine to prevent any unpleasant odors.

    How often?

The activated carbon can effectively serve its purpose for a duration of 4 to 6 months. However, to ensure optimal performance and to maintain an odor-free environment within the container, we typically recommend replacing the charcoal every 3 months.

      Where to buy the replacements?

We have replacements available in our store. Additionally, you are welcome to purchase any charcoal with deodorizing functions from any platform as a suitable alternative. Our machines are compatible with all such products.

Coming out in a sticky lump?

It is important to understand that a slightly moist and sticky consistency is a normal characteristic of the output. This is primarily due to the high moisture content found in common vegetables and fruits. Therefore, a single cycle in automatic mode may not completely eliminate all the moisture present.

Rest assured, the moist fertilizer is still usable. You can apply it directly to your plants and allow it to air dry naturally.

However, if you prefer completely dry fertilizer, you may consider the following methods:

        • You can choose to use the manual mode and let the machine run for an additional 2-4 hours to see if the compost becomes drier.
        • Alternatively, you may allow the compost to air dry naturally.
        • Lastly, you can add some drier food materials and run the machine for a while longer.

        Can/ Can not put into?

Note: make sure to cut up to big food/rigid stems/fibrous vegetables (e.g. corn/ corn husk, flower stems, Fiber plant, etc.) so that they don’t get stuck during grinding. If the bucket appears to be damaged from the addition of any of the items listed in the don’t put in column, the warranty is void.

Do not attempt to treat anything other than food waste (such as glass, metal or wood) with this appliance.

Do not put in large beef bones, candy or chewing gum: these materials may seriously damage the unit, or overload the motor into self-protection mode.

Do not put in cooking oil, flammable materials or compounds.

This is because handling these materials is beyond the reasonable use of the equipment.

How should the equipment be placed?

        • The unit can be placed in any area of the house (including the basement) where there is an electrical outlet and sufficient space.
        • Make sure the unit is placed on a flat, dry surface; floors that are prone to water accumulation should not be placed.
        • Do not place the appliance next to heaters and kitchen appliances that generate a lot of heat.
        • Do not store the unit outdoors, or in any place where it may be exposed to moisture or below freezing temperature.
        • Do not use the unit in an environment above 40°C and below 0°C.
        • Make sure there is adequate ventilation around the appliance.
        • Do not block any air outlets on the appliance during operation and no other objects should be placed on top of the appliance.

What types of food waste can the equipment treat?

As with healthy eating habits, this machine works best with a diverse mix of food waste. To ensure the best results, it is recommended that a variety of different types of food waste are included in each cycle. Greasy, hard-to-digest ingredients can be mixed with lighter, or drier ingredients for the best results.

Please avoid putting in large quantities of the following kitchen waste alone:

        - Starch (bread, cakes, rice, noodles, mashed potatoes, stuffing)

        - Condiments, dressings, sauces and large amounts of grease

        - Nut butters, jellies

Because of the high consistency and starchiness of this food, it will tend to solidify and stick to the mixing paddle.

If a condition occurs where the mixing paddle becomes stuck, the machine will stop processing and switch to self-protection mode (error code displayed). It is necessary for the user to clean off the cured starch to continue working.

Is it normal to hear "knocking" or "squeaking" when the machine is running?

The knocking sound comes from the machine chopping up food waste as a normal part of the process and it is perfectly normal for the noise to be generated. Handling particularly hard food waste and stemmed food waste may cause an increase in noise.
